Toddler Care
The curriculum provides basic methods that we believe nurture children's learning between the ages of 15 months to 4 years old.
Each day is filled with teacher guided open play time, as the toddlers learn how to interact with one another and the materials around them.
We provide activities in the following areas: Art - Drawing - Painting - Clay - Music - Sing-alongs - Dancing Language (English, Spanish and Sign Language) Sense related activities (smell, sight, feel...) Outdoor play
First Steps Home Childcare is filled with toys, games, musical instruments and books which stimulate learning.
We at First Steps foster all development by providing toddlers with all the tools and activities needed to grow and learn in a way that is developmentally appropriate and geared towards each child's unique personality.
Infant Care, Thoughtfully Designed
We understand how delicate and foundational the early stages of life are. Creating a warm, secure, and responsive environment is essential as infants begin to build trust and form their first connections with the world around them.
At First Steps Home Childcare, we provide a loving, intimate home setting where each child is supported at their own pace. Our infant space is designed to encourage safe movement, exploration, and early developmental growth.
Infants receive meaningful one-on-one connection through nurturing interactions, including cuddle time and responsive care, helping foster a strong emotional foundation. Daily experiences such as tummy time support the development of neck and shoulder strength, promoting healthy motor development.
We also introduce gentle, age-appropriate activities—including story time, music, and simple play—to support each child’s physical, verbal, cognitive, social, and emotional development as they transition from infancy into toddlerhood.
Our Care Approach
As a structured group care program, we balance nurturing, responsive care with consistent routines that support independence and self-regulation over time.
While we provide attentive and compassionate care, our program does not accommodate caregiving approaches that require continuous one-on-one soothing, on-demand holding, or fully individualized care throughout the day.
We encourage families to ensure alignment with our approach prior to enrollment, as consistency between home and care environments is key to a child’s success.
All programs are based on space availability and each child’s developmental readiness.
Our program is designed around a structured group care model and may not be the right fit for families seeking fully individualized, on-demand caregiving approaches.
